Here’s a little bit about DLAS
The Delta Literary Arts Society is a not-for-profit society with an ambitious mandate to
promote the literary arts in all three of Delta’s communities by hosting writers’ readings,
dramatized literary events, festivals, contests, workshops, interviews, annual anthology, and open mics.
We aspire to offer inclusive programming in art centres, libraries, classrooms, hospitals, transition houses, rehabilitation centres, and other venues to increase literacy and to present writing as a communication tool promoting self-expression, self-esteem, healing, and self-discovery.
Look for submission calls for our anthology, At the Mouth of the River, showcasing local student, emerging, and established writers, as well as submission calls for our horror/sci-fi themed dramatized event, Killer Verse.
With your help, we hope to raise funds to support literary scholarships, mentorships, and programs to support student writers.
Your membership in the Delta Literary Arts Society will give you access to program information via a monthly newsletter, an issue of one of our anthologies, and our yearly print calendar starting in 2025.
